Paying It Forward: Supporting Two Local Families in 2026

The Pōhutukawa Coast is more than a beautiful place to live and work. It is a community where local people and businesses look out for one another, particularly when times are difficult.

That’s why we came up with the idea of the Pōhutukawa Coast Pay It Forward Campaign.

Following the success of last year’s campaign, we’re delighted to be running it again, coordinating more than 31 local businesses to provide meaningful support to two deserving families in our community.

A community coming together

The Pay It Forward Campaign has been created to help local families who may be facing illness, financial pressure or another unexpected challenge.
Thanks to the generosity of participating businesses, the selected families will receive a package of practical assistance and thoughtful treats.

Contributions include:

• Fuel, Woolworths and
• Prezzy Card vouchers
• Handyman services
• Lawn and garden services
• House-cleaning vouchers
• Water supply and water-tank cleaning
• Vehicle-servicing vouchers
• Haircare and dining vouchers
• Other products and services donated by local businesses

Some of this support is designed to relieve financial pressure, while other contributions are simply intended to bring some happiness to families going through a difficult season.

Who could you nominate?

The people who need support the most are often the least likely to ask for it.

You may know a single parent who is working hard to make ends meet, a family dealing with illness or an unexpected setback, or someone who continues to put on a brave face while quietly struggling.

It could be a neighbour, friend, colleague or another member of the Pōhutukawa Coast community who would benefit from a helping hand and a reminder that they are not alone.

How to make a nomination

Nominations can be submitted privately through Facebook Messenger to The Other Husband Handyman Services.

Please include:

• The nominee’s full name
• Their contact phone number
• A brief explanation of their circumstances and why you are nominating them

Every nomination will be treated with care, respect and complete confidentiality.

Nominations close on 30 June 2026, with the two selected families announced on 1 July 2026.

That same spirit lies at the heart of the Pay It Forward Campaign.

A nomination may feel like a small action, but it could make a genuine difference to a family who needs kindness and support right now.
